Villa Tigullio

The historic Villa Tigullio was built by the Spinola family as a residence and bulwark over the sea.

In front of its windows lies a large lawn, open to the incomparable scenery of the Tigullio Gulf and the sea, on which the profile of the Portofino promontory is silhouetted.

The Villa is surrounded by the Parco Casale, rich in rare species of plants and various classes of birds, and can be reached by walking or driving east along Via Aurelia for about 500 metres from Rapallo Castle and about 2 km from the railway station.

It currently houses two of Rapallo’s most important cultural realities: the Lace Museum, on the ground floor and underground rooms, and the International Library, on the first and second floors.
