Breathtaking view for a path halfway up the coast between the hinterland and the sea!
Starting from Rapallo, along the SP58 for about 10km, you get to the Passo della Crocetta (590 m asl), a location of historical importance between the Gulf of Tigullio and the Fontanabuona Valley. From here the short semi-flat path, known as the Chighizola Path, which alternates scenic stretches and wooded stretches, leads to Montallegro. Once you reach the Sanctuary, you can choose whether to go down the driveway, opt for a comfortable trip by cable car or continue towards Monte Zuccarello and Sant’Ambrogio, taking into account, however, that this last stretch is only suitable for very experienced bikers.
Curiosity: Those who do not like cycling on the road can decide to go up to the Sanctuary of Montallegro by cable car and follow the itinerary in the opposite direction.
