Rapallo of Sestieri

San Michele, Seglio, Borzoli, Cerisola, Cappelletta and Costaguta are the names of the sestieri into which Rapallo is divided.

The sestieri have their roots in the Middle Ages and are a living testimony to the close bond between the inhabitants and ancient traditions.
It is especially during the July Festivals that membership of one of them becomes crucial.
Each sestiere, which has different insignia and symbols related to its patron saint, does its utmost, thanks to the coordination of the massari, in organising the ‘shootings’ and celebrations, engaging in a sort of friendly competition.
